Beltronics STi Magnum and Escort Redline are two radar and laser gun detector models that may seem to be too similar to each other, both in design and in specs and features. They are also being priced more-or-less similarly. Thus, as the effect, there are a lot of people who get confused in choosing between these two models. However, there are some subtle but important differences between these Beltronics STi Magnum and Escort Redline that may affect your preference. Find out below!
Beltronics STi Magnum and Escort Redline come with an identical layout. On the top surface of each model, you can find a quick-release button for easy mount and unmount. Meanwhile, on the front, you can find a wide display screen with three function buttons. However, here, you can see a slight difference. While Beltronics STi Magnum has a roughly flat front surface, Escort Redline’s design has the lower part more extended to the front, and the buttons are put facing upwards. With the design, Escort Redline may not be ideal to be put too high – you will not be able to see the display screen if you mount it high as the lower part will be blocking your sight. On the other hand, not only Beltronics STi Magnum can be mounted high with no problem, but also the model has the ability to invert the display screen, allowing you to mount the detector upside-down.
Beltronics STi Magnum and Escort Redline also come with slightly different display design. Each model comes with two display mode, one that shows a frequency information and one that shows all the detected bands. However, Beltronics STi Magnum may be more convenient to read than Escort Redline. When showing multiple signals, Beltronics STi Magnum provides a number next to each detected signal, indicating the signal strength. On the other hand, Escort Redline uses a bar graph, which may not be as intuitive and convenient to read.
In terms of performance, Beltronics STi Magnum and Escort Redline are more-or-less equal. They both have excellent detection range to radar bands and laser signals. Both are able to detect X, K, Ka, and SuperWide Ka bands. Both are also armed with the TotalShield technology which makes them immune to all detector detectors, including VG-2 and Spectre.
Beltronics STi Magnum Vs Redline
In general, Beltronics STi Magnum makes the best way to go. The design allows for more flexible and versatile mounting, and the display is more intuitive and convenient to read.
